Previously, I wrote a podcast review featuring Filbert Tan from The New Wellness episode with H and Reg. Filbert talked about how we can ensure that what we do and consume on a daily basis actually benefitting our body in the right way. If you missed that episode, you better check that out ‘coz you’re missing a lot right now. To connect ‘The New Wellness’ with this week’s RevHue, let’s find out how we can work out our body as we continuously try to stay in shape during this year-long quarantine with ‘The New Fitness’ featuring Ida Paras, and understand how their business is greatly affected by the pandemic.
BRINGING GYM AT THE COMFORT OF YOUR HOME
It’s not a new thing for most of us to do exercises and workout routines at home. There are tons of videos and apps that we can find online, and even find coaches who can do online coaching for better assistance. I’m amazed at how adaptive we can be ever since the pandemic happened. Just like how Ida Paras is adapting with The Movement Studio.
Ida Paras mentioned in the episode the things she and her team have been doing to continuously reach people to help achieve their body goal. They’ve been conducting multiple online classes along with their other coaches. She said that before the pandemic happened, her clients are only limited to the people near their gym but now they have reached more people even outside Manila. This kind of setup will surely be affecting their gym until no definite time that’s why they built their classes for the long term.
STRENGTHENING BODY AND MIND
We often see fitness coaches alive, energetic, and full of motivation that is truly contagious for their clients to work harder in achieving their fitness goals. But what we don’t usually see is how they prepare themselves before each session. Apart from being the badass coach, Ida deals with one of the challenging obstacles: survival during this pandemic now that they’ve just started their business.
Reality hit her when the lockdown started getting extended. Ida Paras acknowledged that she has been thinking a lot about how she can keep both her company and her team afloat, and she admits that it is very difficult to consider. Good thing that she gets to work out to keep her busy. Without working out and the team that she has, Ida admits that it may not be easy most especially these trying times but at least she’s blessed with it.
“Just keep yourself busy. Try to do things that you can. Don’t compare yourself to other people ‘coz that’s not [ever] good. Look at your blessings and share your blessings. Share your knowledge. Be generous. It’s the best time to be generous so don’t be selfish about it. You don’t know who you might be saving or you don’t know you might be making someone feel better” Ida shared.
