After a pile of her hit tracks and cover songs for movie soundtracks, Janine Teñoso flaunts her knack for penning relatable tracks again with her latest single, “Paano”.
Here, Janine writes verses about unrequited love that will leave listeners filled with memories and feelings of painful goodbyes.
This track kicks off with palm-muted mellow strumming and eventually rises into a crescendo. It is enticing to the ears, yet a somber feeling hangs in Janine’s singing.
Janine’s breakthrough moment was when she sang the movie theme song “’Di Na Muli,” for the Anne Curtis and Dingdong Dantes starrer, “Sid & Aya: Not A Love Story.”
Since then, Janine has also served as the voice behind a string of movie soundtracks that include “241,” for 100 Tula Para Kay Stella, “Ulan” for the Nadine Lustre starrer “Ulan,” and “Tag-araw,” for the MMFF box-office hit, “Miracle In Cell No. 7.”
While she’s known for her covers, Janine actually debuted with a self-penned composition titled “Fall” back in 2017. Her second original was in 2020 with “Umibig Muli.”
Now, she is offering a song that is heartbreaking, relatable and thought provoking in equal measure in “Paano.”
