February 27, 2026 – Philippines – Filipino alternative rock act Novacain are back with a live EP, entitled Patago-tago, dumudugo (Recall Sessions).
The 5-track release is the band’s latest multi-song release recorded live, following 2022’s Control Recall Sessions. The new EP notably contains live versions of five songs from the band’s debut double-EP Patago-tago, dumudugo (English: Hiding, bleeding), which came out on September 25, 2025.
“As fans of live concerts and live gigs, we also want to have our own live versions of our songs and, for me, that experience with live music is really something else compared to a song’s album version,” shares vocalist and guitarist Lawrence Del Rosario.
According to Del Rosario, the ‘Recall Sessions’ started as a way for the band to celebrate their releases, which began with the DIY recording of live versions of the songs from their 2021 full-length album Control.
With Patago-tago, dumudugo (Recall Sessions), the band wanted to take things up a notch and decided to enlist the help of renowned local engineer and drummer Hannah Jabla of This Is Where I Make Music. With her at the helm of recording and engineering the whole release, the band was able to capture live versions of their songs that were of higher quality, especially when it came to the drums.
Adding to this, Del Rosario notes that the live EP is also a celebration of a special milestone, as the new record is their first ever release under ONErpm Philippines. “We are grateful to ONErpm Philippines because this is a big deal for us and it’s an opportunity for us to build up our community even more, ” shares Del Rosario.
In further celebration of the live EP’s release, Novacain is also set to release the record, alongside the Patago-tago, dumudugo EP itself, on CD. DIY-ed by the band, the CDs will be available at future Novacain gigs, which you can keep up to date with here. “We wanted to celebrate physical media just as much as we celebrate live music. Because for us, both are part of the intimate experience of music,” explains bassist Kyle Enriquez.
Overall, Del Rosario shares that the goal they want to achieve with the new EP is to promote the beauty of live music, especially with the current state of the musical landscape where AI-generated music has become increasingly and alarmingly prevalent. “We encourage people to listen to and to watch music in person because
it’s really a different feeling when you get to see it live and it’s also the best way to support bands in this day and age.”
