Chelsea Dawn’s “wishful thinking” Out Now

DUMAGUETE, Philippines — Singer-songwriter Chelsea Dawn has just released “wishful thinking”, the second of her collaborations with The Midnight Greetings’ Redd Layne Odilao, on May 2. The new single is now available on all major streaming and digital music platforms.

Chelsea Dawn (full name, Chelsea Dawn Bureros) is a singer-songwriter hailing from Bais City, Philippines whose musical emergence took root in nearby Dumaguete City. Her new track “wishful thinking” is about acceptance of parting ways with someone without harboring resentment.

“It’s about realizing that even though love didn’t last, it wasn’t wasted,” Bureros shares. “It was real, meaningful, and worth remembering.”

The latest release follows “Another Story”, released on New Year’s Day this year as a comeback track and was likewise a collaboration between Bureros and Odilao. Compared to the previous release, the duo describes “wishful thinking” as more “intimate and raw sounding”.

Both releases are part of a larger project exploring themes of “self-love, moving forward, and letting go.” 

“We’re excited to share more songs that follow this narrative and hope that ‘wishful thinking’ resonates with those who have loved, lost, and found peace in the process,” they add.

With more tracks set to drop soon and an album in the works, fans can expect Chelsea Dawn’s melancholy lyricism to continue to shine through with the fresh musical take Odilao brings to the table.
