Carousel Casualties Wants to Talk Things Through in "season 1 episode 43", drops MV

MANILA, PHILIPPINES—Indie pop band Carousel Casualties treats the lovers with newly released track, “season 1 episode 43” with accompanying music video, launching at Sari Sari, Makati on the same day, February 13 (Friday).

“season 1 episode 43” by Carousel Casualties is a song that procures after a fight between two lovers, trying to reach clarity while being verbally and mentally stuck at the impasse of emotions and uncertainty. In an interview with Emmie Villegas, the band's frontman, he expands more of the thought process behind the latest drop: “"season 1 episode 43" treats young, (and probably even old) love like a TV show. There are seasons, episodes, arcs, and cliffhangers. It zooms into that delicate chapter where the honeymoon phase of a young romance starts to fade, and the “real thing” slowly seeps in,” the singer notes.

Carousel Casualties has been out and about in the local music scene ever since their inception where they started their in a humble 16 square meter apartment in Manila, and ever since then the band has been staple icons of the local music scene with their 2017 hits such as “Leona” and “San Junipero”.

In 2024, the band released “bakasyon”, a soothing summer anthem that reached its streaming peak when it re-emerged again on everyone's sonic rotation last year, 2025. In the same year, they shared their new song “ano ba talaga?”, a playful, catchy indie pop project that introduces Carousel Casualtie's fresh new orange look.

“We centered season 1 episode 43 around those “fighting” moments because it’s one of the most universal yet rarely romanticized parts of young love,” Emmie shares, expanding on his own words the concept behind the song. “Hindi lang kasi about kilig or heartbreak [It isn't all lovey-dovey and heartbreak]. Relationships are also about that in-between space where pride, emotion, and affection all collide after (or even during) a fight.” The latest “love season” track of the band stems from a very relatable feeling almost every human in a relationship has faced, tying it to episodes of a TV show that is currently at a pace where things about the characters are familiar, yet both subjects are still learning the ropes of one another.

With its prominent lyricism which melodically walks the listeners to yearning for communication and understanding, the song heavily leans to that feeling of want and need for connection as the words repeat to a certain beat, searching for closure in every note, as if the song itself is trying to move something unmovable. “Choosing to pause, to listen, and to remind each other that love should outweigh temporary arguments,” the frontman gives light. “And season 1 episode 43 reflects that very human instinct to make things right before things fall apart.”

“season 1 episode 43” is available for streaming on February 13 (Friday). The music video launch will happen on the same day at Sari Sari, Makati. Doors open at 8PM! Pre-sale tickets still available. Link to official YouTube countdown here

About Carousel Casualties

From a humble 16 sqm bedroom, their journey began. Their 2017 debut EP Madison, featuring hits like “Leona,”“Safety,” and “San Junipero,” gained traction in Manila's indie scene and earned them a 2019 AWIT Awards nomination for Best Rock Arrangement.

In 2020, they pushed boundaries with their debut album Static Electricity Dreams of Longevity.

The band broke its pause in 2024 with new releases: “hindi ko alam,” coveted "Sleeper Track of the Year" award from RX 93.1; then “bakasyon,” “malinaw,” with their latest single “ano ba talaga?”, building momentum as they produce their highly anticipated album “cattleya” set for release later in 2026.

Emmie, Pau, Ryan, and Tep continue to evolve, delivering bigger sounds from small rooms.
