Guji revives his Aunt, Joanne Lorenzana’s hit song

Known more as an actor in the Philippines, Guji was encouraged by his Tita Joanne Lorenzana to move to the Philippines from the US in 2006 to pursue music.

In the 80s and 90s, Joanne Lorenzana was a prominent singer and pop star, best known for hit songs like Kung Alam Mo Lang which was recently revived a few years ago by Jed Madela.

Joanne’s first hit song was a song written by Nonong Pedero, entitled I’ll Never Let You Go, which was released in 1986. This song was a huge hit during that time, and it was this song that helped influenced Guji to pursue showbiz.

“I remember seeing Tita Joanne on TV singing this song when I would visit the Philippines before. I remember asking my dad if we were related because we had the same last name.” Says Guji.

Joanne would become a mentor to Guji in the early part of his career. Now that Guji is back into doing music, Guji has decided to go back to his roots.

“Now that I am older, I felt that it would be best for me to do music that was close to my heart, and what better way to do that then to do a song by my Tita Joanne.” says Guji.

Aside from music, Guji is still very active on TV and film, and just recently finished a project with Xian LIm. He is also running an artist management company that works with artists like St. Wolf, Mikee Misalucha, Nikki Bagaporo, and international artists like Korean superstar, Minzy.
