Filipino multi-instrumentalist Gabba is set to return to Singapore this September. The ‘Pockets’ act is slated to bring his distinct math rock sensibilities to Baybeats Festival’s 25th anniversary edition, alongside the likes of homegrown and regional artists such as Disco Hue (SG), The SIGIT (ID), Yangbans (KR), and more.
Singapore’s largest and longest running free alternative music festival, Baybeats is taking place across four days from September 3 to 6 at the Esplanade. The famed festival has previously played host to acclaimed Filipino acts like Sandwich, Pedicab, Urbandub, and more.
Marking his first performance in the city since 2024’s Music Day Out, Gabba shares his excitement for his Baybeats debut: “Getting to play Baybeats for the first time, especially during its 25th anniversary, feels incredibly special. It’s a festival I’ve looked up to for a long time because of how it brings together artists from all over the region. It’s such an important platform, and it’s amazing to finally be part of it.”

Looking back on his last Singapore stint Gabba adds, “That show is still one of my favorite live shows we’ve performed to date. The energy of that room that night was amazing and everyone was so welcoming and inspiring, and I’m looking forward to reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting new people, and discovering even more incredible artists from around the region. I can’t wait to share our music and experience Baybeats from both sides, as a performer and as a fan.”

Gabba’s upcoming Baybeats stint follows the release of ‘fall,’ his 2025 collaboration with Singaporean singer-songwriter and producer Alicia DC.
